A leading Maryland agency serving industry leaders in Food, Beverage, Hospitality and Tourism is seeking a Director of Technology, to play a pivotal role in shaping our digital strategy, managing our technical projects, and ensuring the seamless integration of technology into our marketing solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the technology landscape including industry trends, enhanced workflows, and emerging platforms. This role includes managing and building out resources, collaborating closely with our creative and strategy teams to deliver exceptional client experiences and achieve measurable business outcomes. We are looking for a true “player coach” that can lead the technology needs of our dynamic clients and be part of our agency’s growing team.


Ideal candidate will support:

· Technical Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the technology team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

· Growth Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the agency's technology roadmap aligned with business goals including the creation of mid and long term visioning on the agency’s technology direction, place in the market and how to use these offerings to drive meaningful impact for the organization.

· Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

· Client Engagement: Act as a technical advisor to clients, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate technology solutions that drive business success.

· Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing technology team, nurturing talent and fostering a collaborative environment.

· Quality Assurance: Implement best practices for quality assurance and testing to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our digital solutions.

· Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage third-party technology vendors and partnerships, ensuring they align with our agency's standards and objectives.

· Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential to enhance our service offerings and client outcomes.

· Budget Oversight: Manage the technology budget, forecasting expenditures and optimizing resource allocation to maximize ROI at a project and agency level.

Job requirements

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

· Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in a senior technology leadership role within a marketing agency or similar fast-paced environment.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in web development, digital marketing technologies, CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Sharp Spring), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) in a hands-on and oversight capacity.

· Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team along with the capacity to recruit and retain.

· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. This individual is accountable for the great user experience that drives actionable marketing results.

· Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to think strategically and execute tactically, balancing short-term needs with long-term objectives.

· Team Oriented: Ability to work collaboratively with all departments (Creative, Media, Production, Insights & Strategy, Account Services) to deliver fully integrated solutions. Ability to create strong relationships with client side marketing and IT functions, building a bridge of seamless execution.
